A person must not drive a motor vehicle at a speed or in a manner which is dangerous to the public, having regard to all the circumstances of the case. 2. A person who contravenes subsection (1) is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of not more than 240 penalty units or to imprisonment for a term of not more than 2 years or both; 1. On finding the person guilty of the offence, if the offender holds a drivers licence or learners permit, cancel that licence or permit and must disqualify the offender from obtaining one for such time (not being less than 6 months or, if the vehicle was driven at a speed over 45 km/h of the speed limit, 12 months).
